The Aztec Gateway

Lost World

As I sat there staring at the sky
I had to wonder where I put my world
I thought I had left it in my pocket
But now it seems to of slipped away.

Feels like something’s eating me alive
But I can’t seem to find it
You’d think I could just follow the teeth marks
But I only found bleached bones in the light of day.

Stuck in here, I don’t know why
I bother looking for my brothers and sisters
I guess I haven’t got it through my head
That everyone dies when they loose their way.

You keep telling me you know why
But when I asked you could not answer me
You only babble loudly to the hungry masses
So no one can hear what I’m trying to say.

I tripped on a pebble and I realized
This little stone was all that’s left of my world
But you’ve built a shiny palace on a rock
With a neon sign that says “HOME’S THIS WAY.”

You’ve got everyone standing up so high
They can’t see the tiny pebble in the dirt
Am I the only one who could see it?
I’m low enough not to be blinded by your haze.
