Adirondacks
and gives easy access to the entire
Adirondacks region and the State of Vermont. The region boasts
numerous scenic mountain Lakes including
Lake George,
Lake Champlain,
Schroon Lake, and
Great Sacandaga Lake. There is good riding in
all directions with a nice mix of exciting twisties and scenic
sweepers. The rides below are listed according to the regions

Eastern Lakes |

|
The Eastern Lakes region has many of the
Adirondack's best
twisty roads. The elevation change from the mountains down to
the lakes produce roads with many tight corners. The scenery is
terrific with mountains to the west and
Lake George and
Lake Champlain to the east. Highlights include
Fort Ticonderoga,
Crown Point,
and a ride up to historic
Mount Defiance. Great roads include

Great Sacandaga and Central Lakes |

Great Sacandaga
Lake
forms the southern border of Adirondack Park.
Route 4 - (video) is an exciting twisty road that follows the north
shore of this lake.
Route 30 is the
Adirondack version of Route 100 in Vermont. It is a scenic road
that runs north-south through the entire Park.

Ride #1
- This 219 mile features a great warm-up
twisty ride on
Glenn Falls Mountain Road

and then a very scenic and
twisty ride on
Route 4 - (video) along
Great Sacandaga Lake.
Route 30 then climbs
into the heart of the Adirondacks at Indian Lake.
There are some great twists on 28N
and
Boreas Road
(Route 2) before the ride turns south. There is
an exciting run on
CR 24 (Hoffman Road/Irishtown Road)

to

Lake Placid |
|
|
Lake Placid is the jewel of the northern Adirondacks. This
Olympic City still has many sites from the 1980 Olympics
including the bobsled runs and the ski jump. Riders can also
ride
Route 431 to the top of
Whiteface Mountain for a great view.

Ride #1
- This 255 mile ride follows
Route 30 into the heart of the northern Adirondacks and goes
past the Adirondacks tallest peaks and skirts the Olympic town
of
Lake Placid. Riders will get to ride
Route 18
(Forest Home Rd) &
Route 431 (BONE Route) to the top of
Whiteface Mountain. Things get exciting when the ride hits
Hurricaine Road (video) before ending with a pretty ride
on Route 9 along
Schroon Lake.

Vermont |
|
|
Vermont has some of
the best riding in the northeast. Route 17 over Appalachian Gap,
Route 100 through Glanville Reservation, and Rout 73 over
Brandon Gap are justly famous. The combination of lush green
farms and spectacular mountain scenery make for a great day. The
Ticonderoga ferry crossing of
Lake Champlain
allows riders to relax and take in the great
scenery.
Route 9N along Lake George, Route 8 and
Elephant Rock, and Route 9 along
Schroon Lake are great spots to visit on the way to Vermont
and on the way back to
Lake George.

Ride #1
- This 201 mile ride travels on some of Vermonts best roads.
Riders get to take the
Ticonderoga ferry across
Lake Champlain in both directions. Highlights include Route
17, the best part of Route 100, and Route 73 in Vermont and
Route 9N,
Route 8, and
Schroon Lake in New York.
